Where We Are and What We Do

The True North AmeriCorps Program (TNAC) has placed AmeriCorps members throughout Northeastern Minnesota since 2004.  Based out of the Duluth Area Family YMCA, TNAC partners with nonprofit and community agencies in the Arrowhead region of Minnesota.

TNAC’s mission is “to enhance the future success of at-risk children by increasing the number of positive adults in their lives.”  This is accomplished by placing a corps of well-trained AmeriCorps Members and volunteers within mentoring, tutoring, and out of school youth programs serving at-risk children grades K-8, and by mobilizing volunteers to support these programs.

Qualified individuals with disabilities and those from diverse backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply. True North AmeriCorps provides reasonable accommodation for qualified individuals upon request.

TNAC serves a 10 county region in Northeastern Minnesota; Aitkin, Carlton, Cass, Cook, Crow Wing Itasca, Koochiching, Lake, Pine and St. Louis.  Nonprofit organizations within these counties are invited to apply for a True North AmeriCorps member.
